Rob is a Pennsylvania native and graduate of Methodist University (Fayetteville, NC) where he majored in Business Administration with a concentration in Professional Golf Management. While at Methodist, Rob starred on the Golf Team, while winning a Individual National Championship ’90 and runner up in ’91. Rob takes his playing skills and blends them with his passion to reach every student. Rob is an asset to the Duke University Golf Club while specializing in beginners and golfers that need special attention through solid fundamentals and on course management.
Rob has served as a golf instructor in the Pinehurst Golf Academy, Pine Needles Golf Academy and the Ladies only “Golfari” led by Peggy Kirk Bell. Rob was fortunate to be mentored by Peggy Kirk Bell, Harvey Ward, Eric Apenfels, Chip King, David Orr, Kelly Mitchum, Kathy Whitworth, Donna Andrews, and Ed Ibarguen, Duke’s GM. With a wealth of influences, Rob has crafted years of golf knowledge into a philosophy of Fun First mixed with solid fundamentals.
From beginner to accomplished player, Rob is committed to equip each student with solid fundamentals, confidence and a practice plan for success. Rob assists his students to develop a swing based upon their natural abilities and body types. Rob’s past work experiences include Pinehurst Resort & Country Club, King’s Grant CC, Mid Pines Inn & Golf Club and Pine Needles Lodge & Golf Club. Rob conducted day-to-day golf operations, tournament management, golf instruction as well as spread hospitality among all members and guests. Rob’ achievements include winning the 2007 Carolinas PGA Professional Development Award and 1999 Carolinas PGA Assistant of the Year. He and his wife, Avis, are proud parents of two lovely daughters.
