Recently ranked by Golf Digest Magazine as the 7th best teacher in the State of North Carolina. John hales from New Orleans, Louisiana where he won an LHSAA Division 5A State Championship in 2003. He played four years on a golf scholarship at St. Andrews Presbyterian College in Laurinburg, North Carolina. While there, John earned 1st Team All CVAC conference honors. In 2007, after graduating with a degree in business administration, John joined the golf professional staff at the Duke University Golf Club.
As a Class “A” PGA Head Golf Professional, John’s daily responsibilities include golf operations, merchandise and inventory management, tournament operations, and membership development. Under the tutelage of PGA Master Professional and Golf Magazine Top 100 Instructor, Ed Ibarguen, John has become one of the most engaged teachers on the staff. John is passionate about helping people enjoy the game of golf within a fun lesson tee environment. John actively attends teaching seminars and seeks additional knowledge in his quest to become recognized as one of the best golf teachers in the country.
In his time away from the golf course, John and his wife, Kara enjoy spending time with family, traveling, and rooting for the New Orleans Saints and Duke Blue Devils.
